What data we collect
We collect only the necessary data for the operation of the portal and for handling your requests:
- Contact / cooperation form: name, e-mail, optionally organisation, message content — so that we can reply
- Language choice (PL/EN): stored in browser localStorage — so we remember your preference
- WCAG settings (text size, contrast, animations, focus): saved in localStorage so you don't have to configure them on each visit
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, visit time — anonymous, for statistics and bot protection
What we do NOT collect
- We do not use advertising — no Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity
- We do not sell data — ever, to anyone
- We do not profile between visits
- We do not collect biometric data or GPS location
How long we retain it
- Contact form data: 6 months from the last correspondence
- List of patrons / donors: 5 years (accounting and tax requirements)
- Server logs: 30 days
- Browser localStorage: until you clear cookies yourself

- Pannellum / OpenSeadragon (CDN) — frontend libraries for virtual walk and deep-zoom (without transfer of personal data)
None of these entities is entitled to use your data for purposes other than those agreed.
Your rights (GDPR art. 15–22)
You have the right to:
- access — receive a copy of your data
- rectification — correct errors
- erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- restriction of processing
- data portability — export in a readable format

§ 3 Copyright and licence
Content licence
All digital reproductions — 3D models in GLB format, gigapixel images, 360° panoramas, narrative texts, curatorial essays and bibliographic documents of the raszyn1809.pl portal — are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0) licence.
You may use these materials for educational, scholarly and museum purposes, provided the attribution is given. Commercial use requires separate consent — the Association does not sell licences as part of its mission policy.
Required attribution
Physical and digital rights
- Digital rights holder of the reproductions: Project Raszyn Association
- Full copyright to the digital reproduction belongs to the Project Raszyn Association
- Digitalisation author: Piotr Białobrzycki — original concept and execution, with the formal consent of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland
- Physical owner of the Poniatowski equestrian monument: Polish State Treasury, in the custody of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland
- Physical owners of museum exhibits:
- Staszic Museum in Piła (uniforms, weapons, hats of the 8th Infantry Regiment)
- Wielkopolska Military Museum in Poznań (gigapixel images of Suchodolski, Bacciarelli)
- Białystok Army Museum (watercolours and battle paintings)
- Stanisław Staszic District Museum in Piła (the painting "Napoleon on Horseback" by Jan Rosen)
- Authors of the works: Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844), Marcello Bacciarelli (1731–1818), January Suchodolski (1797–1875), Wojciech Kossak (1856–1942), Jan Rosen (1854–1936) — all in the public domain (70 years after death)
Five-layer protection shield
The architecture of the digital resource is based on the principle of defence in depth. Each layer operates independently:
- Layer 1 — GLB / IIIF streaming: 3D models delivered through the Google model-viewer; gigapixel images as tile-based tiles via an IIIF server
- Layer 2 — Session signature: invisible watermark identifying the access session
- Layer 3 — Mini-watermark: discreet Association mark in the bottom right corner of HD tiles
- Layer 4 — Hotlink protection: referrer whitelist (raszyn1809.pl, wirtualnedziedzictwo.pl, polona.pl, europeana.eu, wikipedia.org)
- Layer 5 — Streaming audit: every access is logged, retention compliant with KPO grant reporting requirements
Rights enforcement is carried out by the Pixsy agency in a pay-per-success model — DMCA notices and settlement negotiations regarding unauthorised reproductions.
International standards
The portal's metadata complies with the IIIF Image API 3.0, Dublin Core and CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM) standards. Author identifiers are linked to the Wikidata, Getty ULAN and VIAF databases. All objects have persistent Handle identifiers (hdl.handle.net/20.500.14365/raszyn1809-*). The portal complies with the Europeana and Google Arts & Culture protocols.
§ 4 Accessibility statement
Compliance status
As of 26 May 2026: partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. A full accessibility audit is planned for Q2 2027 by an external certified WCAG specialist. Selected elements still require refinement.
What already works
- Full keyboard navigation — Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Escape (closes modals)
- High contrast mode (WCAG AAA 7:1) — black background, yellow text — toggle in the Accessibility panel
- Fullscreen mode — Fullscreen API (F11 or Esc)
- Text size enlargement A / A+ / A++ (19 / 21 / 24 px) without loss of legibility
- Underlined links — WCAG 2.4.7
- Strong focus outline — yellow 4 px frame (WCAG 2.4.7)
- Disabling animations — WCAG 2.3.3, also respecting the system prefers-reduced-motion
- Reading selected text — Web Speech API (speech synthesis, pl-PL)
- Skip-links — bypassing navigation to main content
- ARIA labels for all interactive elements
- Schema.org VisualArtwork — semantic representation of data
- Two languages: PL / EN with hreflang
What we will still improve
- Audio description of 3D models for the blind (narrator synchronised with camera framing)
- Quiet mode (sensory-friendly UI) — minimal visuals, typography only
- Full captions and transcription of the narrator audio
- Sign-language translation of the most important narratives
Keyboard shortcuts
- Tab / Shift+Tab — navigation between elements
- Enter / Space — activation of a button / link
- Escape — close the Accessibility panel, 3D modal, statistics panel
- F11 — fullscreen mode
- ← / → — rotate the 3D model (when focus is on model-viewer)

If you encounter an accessibility issue on the portal — a page that is unreadable by a screen reader, low contrast, missing alternative text, inability to navigate by keyboard — please report it to kontakt@raszyn1809.pl. We will try to remedy it within 14 days.
